November 24, 2010—Impax Laboratories will be providing more than 1,600 340B covered entities with a total of $525,000 in refunds for overcharges from the third quarter of 2007 through the first quarter of 2010 for products bearing labeler code 00115, the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) announced on its Web site yesterday.
According to OPA, when the company recalculated its 340B prices, it found that, in some instances, the original 340B prices were higher than they should have been, while in other cases they were lower. Impax, however, did not subtract undercharges from overcharges when it calculated providers’ refunds, OPA said.
Apexus/340B Prime Vendor Program (PVP) is working with Impax to distribute the refunds, which in most cases will appear as credits on future invoices from the covered entities’ wholesalers.
The public notice instructed covered entities to contact PVP Portfolio Executive John Korte atjkorte@340bpvp.com or (972) 910-6648 for additional information.
